Question by : What Is The Best Rolling Stones Album?
What Rolling Stones album should I buy?

I’ve been a big Beatles fan for years, and I’ve only ever heard a few Rolling Stones songs, and have never entertained the idea of listening to an album.

They are one of the very few bands to be considered to rival the Beatles, so I thought I should maybe give them a go.

Thanks

Beggar’s Banquet is my favorite, closely followed by Exile On Main St. and Let It Bleed.

I actually prefer them over The Beatles

    Sticky Fingers in my opinion

I love their psychedelic album, Their Satanic Majesties Request. Its def not their usual work though. Its better than Sgt Peppers in my opinion, by a landslide.

  4. Southern Man says:

    Tattoo you

My favourites are Tattoo You and Goats Head Soup although many would disagree with me

First off they were not rivals they were friends. Second they played and came from different types of music she there is no comparting them.

The Beatles were weaned on Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Eddie Cochran, and the Stones were weaned on Bo diddley, Howlin’ Wolf Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Little Walter.

As you can see the Beatles music does not have a blues base to it, as they neve did play the blues, and thus it’s why they were called pop/rock and the Stones were called blue/rock as they style is all blues.

And like any great band such as the Stones or the Beatles, one always have to start at the start. now with albums they made half way through their careers, like Exile On Main Street, and such. One has to go with the my first album by them that I bought back in 1964, and which I still own today, and I was 16 at the time, I own every album they or the Beatles ever made and bought them all on there first releases. And which I still own today.

I was raise on the blues befor either of them bands first came out, and when the Beatles came along I did not like them because they did not have a hard/blues/base to their music, but When bands like the Stones, Animals, Yardbirds, came along with their blues sound, I was a happy little camper.

So if you want to get into their music the right way start back at the start. Where you will find some of their best music.

    On albums such as:

The Rolling Stones, England’s Newest Hitmakers
    Out Of Our Heads
    December’s Children
    The Rolling Stone’s Now
    Aftermath

    then get into albums like

    Flowers
    Between The Buttons
    Their Satanic Majesties Request
    Let It Bleee
    Beggars
    Stick Fingers
    Exile On Main Street
    It’s Only Rock N Roll

But to get to know the Stones at their best you have to go right back to the start of their roots, with the first albums they made. And you will find lots of gems, that people never talk about, as they don’t even consider them albums, as most people today, have never taken the time to listen to them.

    take care dave
