Question by Old School: David Bowie, I have an issue with his lyrics in song Rebel Rebel?
I was in the toilets at Birmingham New Street train station yesterday. I was drying my hands under the dryer. I had the misfortune of having a ‘hot tramp’ next to me heating himself up with the dryer next to me. In the song Rebel Rebel by David Bowie he wrote about these hot tramps, he says he loves one. I have experienced what David had and I must say it was an awful experience and I have no idea how he could feel that way.
How can David feel this way?

yes the homeless should obviously be forced to freeze. Oh god just think – maybe you contracted a virus from him when his mucus spores filled the air. You sir are a buttnut.

This was a cold tramp.
Mr Bowie was merely suggesting that a nice, warm and toasty tramp makes a much more absorbent and pleasant hand-drying experience than air-based hand dryers.
Finally heeding his advice after more than 30 years, British Rail is now providing heated tramps for customers to dry their hands on in selected stations. (Please wait at least three minutes for the tramp to achieve the optimum temperature.)
They assure the public this does not compromise their efforts to keep trains arriving late.
